Eman Ragab

Dr. Eman Ragab is a senior expert with 20 years of experience in national security policies and has worked in various national and international institutions. She is the former General Director of the General Directorate of Policy Research at the Egyptian President’s National Security Council Secretariat.    Previously, she was a resident research fellow at the NATO Defense College in Rome and worked at Oracle Corporation.  She was the Head of the security and military unit at the al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies. She worked at the Information and Decision Support Center at the Egyptian Cabinet.  

She was also an advisor on terrorism and extremism to the Egyptian Dar -Al Efta’a -Ministry of Justice, an advisor to the Ministry of Youth and Sport, and an Associate Expert at the Armed Forces Center for Strategic Studies.  

Dr Eman is an expert consultant at the African Union and a senior expert in the NESA Center network at the NDU in Washington, D.C. She teaches national security, international relations and international security at Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, the American University in Cairo, the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University, and the Egyptian Military Academy (formerly Nasser Higher Academy for Military Sciences). 

Dr Eman is a political science graduate from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science FEPS at Cairo University and has earned her M.A. from the same faculty. She holds two Ph.D. degrees, one on transnational violent non-state actors from FEPS and the second on national security and strategic studies from the Egyptian Military Academy.

Eman is currently the Director General of the Regional Expertise Center for Combating Drugs and Crime at Naif Arab University for Security Sciences NAUSS (NAUSS-UNODC Joint Center of Excellence).
